#8: Classic Cheeseburger
This simple recipe first surfaced in our “Martin’s Madness” campaign where we pit 16 recipes off against one another to see which would come out on top (based on fan votes). The Classic Cheeseburger may not have been the final champion of that recipes bracket (which ultimately went to our Steakhouse BBQ Burger), but the fact that it is still one of our Top 10 All-Time Sandwich Roll recipes just goes to show how many people love a basic, no-frills burger. After all, you can never go wrong with the burger trifecta of bun + beef + cheese (toppings optional).

#4: Pork Roll, Egg, and Cheese
The NJ-NY-PA Tri-State Region is seriously “repping” with this hyper-regional recipe landing at number four on our countdown list. Chances are, if you live outside of this region, you’ve probably never heard of “pork roll” (or “Taylor ham”). If that’s the case—check out our Famous Sandwiches from U.S. Cities blog to learn all about the history of this Trenton, NJ-originated breakfast meat. #3: Oven-Baked Chicken Sandwiches
In the hundreds of recipes in our website archive, we’ve found that chicken recipes often reign supreme in terms of most frequently searched-for meal ideas. And we can certainly see why—chicken is a very affordable and versatile protein option that can easily be dressed up or down to suit a variety of tastes. Another plus to this dinner-worthy recipe is that it uses an oven-baked method that is much healthier than deep frying, while still producing crispy breaded chicken breast. The finishing touches of dill pickle chips and homemade “comeback” sauce, plus the Martin’s Potato Roll, may be subdued but they are certainly not lacking in flavor. (Read our Mayo-Based Sauces blog to learn about this famous sauce!)

#2: Blackened Fish Sandwich with Spicy Mayo
Our second place recipe award goes to this Blackened Fish Sandwich originally featured along with five other recipes in our Lent: Fish and Seafood Recipes blog post. We can’t help but be inspired by this delicious creation made with blackened seasoned haddock fillets, quick cabbage slaw, and homemade spicy mayo, snuggled inside a toasty Sandwich Potato Roll.

#1: Blackened Chicken Sandwich with Cajun Mayo
And the winner is…our Blackened Chicken Sandwich with Cajun Mayo! Sounds a bit familiar, right? We don’t think it’s a coincidence that our top two recipe picks both utilize blackened seasoning and a spicy flavored mayo. The southern-style spice blend, frequently used in Cajun and creole cooking, includes flavorful ingredients like smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, cayenne, dried herbs, and black pepper—a powerful combination that packs a punch in terms of flavor and spice, making it perfect for proteins like chicken and fish. Spice blends and sauces like these are an easy and brilliant way to take your summer cooking up a few notches and impress the guests at your next cookout!
