Martin Family Favorites

In honor of National Sandwich Day on November 3rd, we interviewed some members of the Martin family (3rd generation, and grandchildren of our company’s founders, Lloyd and Lois Martin) to learn about their favorite, go-to sandwiches.

Here are their responses, along with their favorite Martin’s product, of course!

Tony Martin – Executive Vice President:

“To stay fit and healthy, I enjoy getting outside on my bicycle and eating healthy, nutrient-rich food. One of my favorite sandwiches includes a thick slice of fresh, garden-ripened beefsteak tomato and mild onion on Big Marty’s Rolls. It’s juicy, flavorful, wholesome, and delicious.”

Joe Martin – Vice President of Production Operations:

“Since I raise beef cows and have bee hives at home, I feel like I should say that I like burgers…with honey…or something like that. But, although I do enjoy a good burger, my favorite everyday sandwich is a turkey club with Swiss cheese on a Martin’s Sandwich Potato Roll.”

Jackie Martin – Director of Strategic Initiatives:

“I love to cook and I’m always trying new recipes! If I have to choose one favorite sandwich, I guess for me it would be a cheesesteak on a Martin’s Hoagie Roll with grilled onions, peppers, and lusciously melted havarti and/or provolone cheese.”

Julie Martin – Social Media Manager:

“Anyone who knows me, knows that I love vegetables! Thus, I suppose it makes sense that my favorite go-to sandwich is basically a salad on a bun! I just love veggie hoagies with lettuce, spinach, bell peppers, cucumbers, sprouts, banana peppers, provolone cheese, mayo, bread-and-butter pickles, oregano, salt & pepper, and maybe a little oil & vinegar on a Martin’s Hoagie Roll.”

Italian-Style Hoagie

Julie’s favorite veggie hoagie is similar to our classic Italian-style Hoagie—minus the deli meat. Check out our recipe, which uses ham, capicola (or pepperoni), and Genoa salami, and try adding your favorite fresh veggies like spinach, cucumbers, and sprouts!
