About Martin’s Big Marty’s Rolls
Martin’s Big Marty’s Rolls are sesame-seeded large white rolls. Many consumers assume our Big Marty’s Rolls are also a potato bread product since that’s what we are best known for, but Big Marty’s are actually made with a white dough base without the addition of potato flour. However, just like with our other products, our use of high-quality ingredients give our Big Marty’s Rolls a great taste and a soft, squishy texture that is perfect for any sandwich or burger!
The vast amount of sesame seeds (which also make our Big Marty’s easy to identify) can add a welcome textural contrast and bit of crunch to an otherwise boring meal. The sesame seeds also incorporate a wonderfully nutty flavor, especially when toasted.
At nearly four inches in diameter (slightly larger than our famous Sandwich Potato Rolls), these rolls can hold up to even the heaviest pile of fillings, such as double-stacked burgers or loaded barbecue sandwiches. Whether toasted or plain, their stable structure can stand up to juicy toppings and condiments without getting soggy.
Fun Fact: Martin’s also produces an unseeded version of our Big Marty’s Rolls, which is available for restaurants and food service use.

Who is “Big Marty”?
You may be wondering, “Why are they called ‘Big Marty’s’ Rolls?” Well, the rolls are named after Lloyd Martin, co-founder of Martin’s Famous Pastry Shoppe, Inc. and father to current president, Jim Martin. Lloyd’s friends called him by the nickname “Marty” and he liked his sandwiches “big,” so it just made sense to name the product after him!
Lloyd had a generous heart and a great sense of humor, and will always be remembered fondly by his family and friends. His legacy lives on in Martin’s Famous Pastry Shoppe, Inc. and in the current and future generations of the Martin family and we are blessed to have this special product by which to remember him.
