Plant-Based Burger with Smoky Chipotle Ketchup

4 Plant-Based Burger Patties or 16 Ounces Ground Plant-Based Meat Alternative (such as Beyond Meat or Impossible Foods brand)

4 Martin’s Sandwich Potato Rolls or Martin's Big Marty's Rolls

4 Leaves Lettuce

1/4 Red Onion, thinly sliced

1 Medium Tomato, sliced

For Chipotle Ketchup:

1/2 Cup Ketchup

1 Chipotle in Adobo

1 Teaspoon Adobo Sauce

Serves: 4


Step 1

Preheat grill or non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 2

If using ground “meat,” form into four 4-ounce patties. Cook patties 4-5 minutes per side.

Step 3

Prepare Chipotle Ketchup: Add ketchup, chipotle, and adobo sauce to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. (Alternately, you can substitute with homemade ketchup like this recipe from skinnytaste.)

Step 4

Top bottom buns with a smear of chipotle ketchup, cooked burger patty, lettuce, onion, tomato, and more chipotle ketchup. Top off with top bun and serve along with your preferred sides.
