For French Toast:
8 Slices Martin’s Potato Bread
2 Large Eggs
2/3 Cup Milk
1 Lemon, juiced
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Unsalted Butter, for griddle
For Lavender Whipped Cream:
1 Cup Heavy Whipping Cream
1 Teaspoon Lavender Extract
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
2 Tablespoons Sugar
1 Pinch Dried Lavender, to garnish (optional)
Serves: 4
Directions
Step 1
To prepare the lavender whipped cream, add the heavy cream, vanilla extract, lavender extracts, and sugar to a chilled bowl.
Step 2
Beat with an electric hand mixer or stand mixer on medium high speed until medium peaks form. Medium peaks will hold their shape. Keep refrigerated until ready to use.
Step 3
To prepare the French toast, heat griddle to 350 degrees.
Step 4
Mix the eggs, milk, vanilla, and lemon juice in a shallow dish.
Step 5
Grease the griddle with butter.
Step 6
Quickly dip both sides of the Martin’s Potato Bread in the egg mixture and place on the griddle, browning all slices on both sides.
Step 7
Plate slices of French toast, top with lavender whipped cream, syrup, and garnish with dried lavender, lemon zest, and a lemon spiral. Enjoy!
