Double Smash Burger

10-15 Mins

Ingredients

4 Martin’s Sandwich Potato Rolls

2 Pounds Ground Beef (80% lean, 20% fat)

8 Slices American Cheese

Salt, to taste

Black Pepper, to taste

Special Sauce:

1/3 Cup Ketchup

1/3 Cup Mustard

1/3 Cup Mayo

2 Tablespoons Pickle Relish

1 Tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar

Serves: 4

Directions

Step 1

To Prepare Special Sauce – Combine sauce ingredients and mix. Store in airtight container until ready to use.

Step 2

Warm a double burner griddle over medium high heat. Season with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to prevent sticking.

Step 3

While the griddle is heating up, roll the ground beef into 8 loosely-formed 4 oz. balls and set aside. Once the griddle is hot, place ground beef balls onto griddle and smash them using a large and heavy metal spatula. Season with salt and pepper and cook undisturbed until well browned on griddle side (about 1-2 minutes).

Step 4

Flip the patties and top them with American cheese. Continue cooking until cheese is melted around the edges and the bottom of the burgers are browned (about 1 minute). Repeat steps 3-4 until all patties are cooked. Open rolls and lightly toast them on the griddle during the last few minutes.

Step 5

To assemble, place a cheesy smash burger patty onto bottom of roll. Top with another patty and drizzle with special sauce. Complete by adding top of roll.
