Summer Restaurant Checklist

Hello, Blog Readers!

We hope you are having a wonderful summer so far—one filled with many adventures, restful vacations, and plenty of delicious foods! If you’re like us, you may even have a summer bucket list filled with goals and activities you’d like to accomplish before the season’s end.

At the top of our list of things we’d like to do this summer, is to visit all the many restaurants using Martin’s Famous Potato Rolls and Bread for their mouthwatering creations! Between barbecue platters with all the fixin’s, juicy smash burgers, and crispy chicken sandwiches, there are so many amazing indulgences being cooked up all across the U.S. that it is simply impossible to try them all.

So, in lieu of a physical road trip, we took a virtual one by scouring social media for the best and boldest menu creations from some of Martin’s foodservice customers. Take a journey with us by scrolling through the highlighted posts below.

1.         Biebs & Ash – Goshen, IN

Biebs & Ash is a fast casual burger joint, with two locations in Northern Indiana, serving up west coast style smashburgers. Pay them a visit to taste creative options like their Ultimate Baconator (pictured above)– two crispy beef smash patties topped with pepper jack cheese, smoked pork belly, bacon, bacon aioli, sweet ‘n spicy bacon jam, lettuce and tomato atop a Martin’s Potato Roll!

2.         The Coterie – Kokomo, IN

Over in Kokomo, Indiana, The Coterie is serving up fantastic dishes including a Rattlesnake Burger, Sloppy Joes, and this Nacho Burger that consists of two smashed beef patties topped with pepper jack cheese, queso, ranch, pico de gallo, jalapeños, shrettuce, & a tostada on a Martin’s Potato Roll.

3.         Moonlit Burgers – Pittsburgh, PA

Visit one of the multiple locations for MoonLit Burgers in Pittsburgh, PA, and you’ll find delicious sandwiches like their Classic Moonlit Double (a smashburger with their signature Moon Sauce) or this Moon Bird Chicken Sandwich made with pickle brined chicken breast, Smashville Hot Sauce, jalapeño cilantro slaw, pickles, Moon Sauce, and a Martin’s Big Marty’s Roll!

4.         PGH Sandwich Society Food Truck – Pittsburgh, PA

Nearby, you’ll come across Pittsburgh Sandwich Society, a local food truck located at Strange Roots Experimental Ales. Order via pick-up or delivery to try menu items like their Italian Pork Summer Sandwich—roasted Italian pulled pork with sharp provolone, hot pepper spread, pickled red onions, shredded lettuce, ‘white sauce’, and a Martin’s Big Marty’s Roll.

5.         The Lucky Well – Philadelphia, PA

The Lucky Well is a BBQ restaurant led by Chef/Owner Chad Rosenthal. Head to one of its several Philadelphia locations to sample such masterpieces as this General Tso Chicken Sandwich with pickled carrot Napa slaw and lemon tahini vinaigrette on a Martin’s Potato Roll!

6.         Mashed Burgers – Cliffside Park, NJ

Out of Cliffside Park, NJ, a fast casual burger concept called Mashed Burgers is serving up awe-inspiring cheeseburgers like the ones above, available as a single, double, or triple patty, and served with a variety of toppings along with their signature Mash sauce.

7.         Eighty Twenty – Westwood, NJ

This smashburger pop-up in Westwood, NJ offers a selection of mouthwatering menu options including the “Smasher”—a smashed burger topped with American cheese, griddled onions, and MANDY sauce, the “Porky”—a beef patty topped with onions, cheese, and pork belly confit,  and the “Glizzy”—a natural casing pork & beef hot dog on a Martin’s Long Potato Roll. 8.         Rokstar Chicken – Queens, NY

Rokstar Chicken is a fast casual restaurant in NYC specializing in Korean-style fried chicken. Choose from their selection of comfort food items like the above Fried Chicken Sandwich with coleslaw. Sauce options include favorites like Spicy Ranch, Korean Sweet Chili, Korean Jalapeño Mayo, and more.

9.         Burger City – East Meadow, NY

Head over to Long Island for some incredible crispy chicken sandwiches and diner-style burgers at Burger City. You can’t go wrong when it’s on a Martin’s Potato Roll!

10.    The Dog Den – White Plains, NY

If you’re a lover of hot dogs, you need to take a trip over to The Dog Den in White Plains to try crazy creations like the “Olympic Glory” or the “Chicago-Go”—a spiraled all-beef hot dog with sweet relish, tomato wedges, a pickle spear, chopped white onions, sport peppers, celery salt, and yellow mustard in a toasted Martin’s Potato Roll.

11.    Rocket Fine Street Food – Providence, RI

This food truck out of Providence, Rhode Island has been serving out-of-this world hamburgers for over 10 years! Track them down to get your hands on one of these works of art, such as the above-pictured Parisienne Burger, topped with Gruyère cheese, caramelized onions, and roasted garlic aioli.

12.    Wolf Pizza – East Falmouth, MA

In addition to their incredible pizzas, pop-up restaurant and caterer Wolf Pizza also offers a selection of delicious appetizers like these Fried Chicken Sliders topped with house-made pickles and honey mustard aioli on Martin’s Potato Bread. (Check out their website to book them for a private event.)

13.    Fifty Fifty – Frederick, MD

Fifty Fifty Food Truck in Frederick, MD is popping up all over town to serve up some delicious burgers on Martin’s Potato Rolls. Try a taste of “The Bear,” their signature burger topped with spicy giardiniera and Fifty Fifty sauce. Check their website for a list of pop-up dates and locations.

14.    The Royal Blue – Baltimore, MD

This cocktail bar & restaurant in the Station North Arts District of Baltimore, MD has found its niche of up-scale culinary delights like their signature Smash Burger or their Bang-Bang Fried Chicken Sandwich, a Buttermilk-brined chicken thigh, double fried, and tossed in house-made sweet neat sauce, topped with an Asian-style slaw and candied jalapeño, served on a toasted sesame-seeded Big Marty’s Roll.

15.    BoBo’s Fine Chicken – Virginia Beach, VA

If you’re craving a classic fried chicken sandwich, there’s nowhere quite like BoBo’s Fine Chicken, a southern-style comfort food restaurant out of Virginia Beach. On their menu, you’ll find both fried chicken meals and sandwiches served with house-made pickles and BoBo Sauce on a Martin’s Potato Roll, along with many choices of sides and sweet treats.

16.    Bae’s Burgers – Mooresville, NC

Down in Mooresville, NC is award-winning restaurant Bae’s Burgers, which has perfected the art of the “smash burger.” Their burgers, which use an exclusive blend of chuck, short-rib, and brisket, can be ordered as a single, double, or triple patty, and come with a selection of different toppings and sauces to suit your preference.

17.    Baby Bull – Asheville, NC

Baby Bull is a casual, trendy restaurant in Asheville, NC. They offer favorites such as a Lobster Roll, Roast Pork Sub, and Double Cheeseburger, along with a Fried Fish Sandwich (pictured above)—made with beer battered fried cod, mushy peas, tartar sauce, malt vinegar, and shredded lettuce on a Martin’s Potato Roll.

18.    M.L.Rose Craft Beer & Burgers – Nashville, TN

M.L.Rose, which has four locations in and around Nashville, TN, is known for their craft beer and burgers. Their burgers come in a wide variety of exciting names and topping combinations and many are served on Martin’s Potato Rolls. Check out their monthly burger special to try crazy creations like the Notorious P.I.G. (pictured above) topped with pork belly, onion marmalade, Havarti cheese, and shishito aioli!

19.    The Lane Smashburgers – Charleston, NC

The Lane Smashburgers is a veteran-owned street food vendor operating out of various locations near Charleston, NC. Their signature burgers include varieties like “The Daywalker,” a smashed angus beef patty with American cheese, crispy bacon, grilled onions, pickles, and Spicy Garlic Aioli, and “The Outlaw” (pictured above)—a smashed beef patty with American cheese, crispy bacon, jalapeños, onion rings, pickles, and Spicy Citrus BBQ Sauce.

20.    Heavy’s Barburger – Charleston, NC

Heavy’s Barburger is a classic burger joint serving up craft drinks and snacks, salads, sandwiches, and their signature Barburger, a double patty with American cheese, sliced tomato, red onion, lettuce, pickles, and Heavy’s Sauce, which is served on a Martin’s Big Marty’s Roll.

21.    Chicken Fats Popup – Charleston, NC

This street food pop-up at Low Tide Brewing Co. in Charleston, NC has a rotating menu with mouthwatering options like the Korean Mustard Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Smoked Gouda Bacon Cheeseburger, or the above-pictured Coffee-Rubbed BBQ Cheeseburger with Peppered Bacon.

22.    Thorn – Miami, FL

This newly opened cocktail bar in Miami, FL, includes delicious food options such as gourmet fries and this Natty Jack Burger—a butcher’s blend smashed patty (or two), topped with American cheese and house made pickles, served on a Martin’s Potato Roll!

23.    SSA Group @ Zoo Miami – Miami, FL

If you plan to hit the Florida coast on your next family vacation, be sure to visit the Miami Zoo and sample their various food options from SSA Group, like this “Miami BGR Special”—a loaded sausage topped with peppers, onions, pepitas, and cilantro crema on a Martin’s Long Potato Roll.

24.    Bricked Burgers – Kendall, FL

Pick up a single or double “Bricked Burger” on your way through Miami, at the food truck by the same name. As an added bonus, you have to try their “Bricked” Chicken Sandwiches, which use two toasted and sliced Martin’s Dinner Potato Rolls (still connected) as the vehicle for their spicy hot chicken.

25.    Divine Dogs – Houston, TX

Divine Dogs is a hot dog cart out of Houston, TX, that is revered for its gourmet hot dogs which come in many varieties such as The Texan, the Chili Cheese Dog, and other specialty combinations. Follow them on Instagram to stay up-to-date on their menu and locations.

26.    Bar-A-BBQ – Montgomery, TX

Feeling hungry? Head to Bar-A-BBQ in Montgomery, TX for an A+ barbecue platter filled with such delicacies as BBQ ribs, smoked sausage, brisket, pulled pork, smoked chicken and turkey, plenty of gourmet sides, and sliced Martin’s Potato Bread as a happy accompaniment.

27.    La Barbecue – Austin, TX

Located in Central Texas, in the heart of Austin, la Barbecue has been cooking up classic Texas barbecue—low and slow—since 2012. Their BBQ platters are a must-try, as are specialty sandwiches like the Sliced Brisket, Bobby Dawg, and El Sancho Loco (pictured above) which includes chopped brisket, pulled pork, and house made sausage, topped with picked red onions, served on a Martin’s Potato Roll!

28.    Golden Castle – Austin, TX

Golden Castle is a food truck located on the patio of the Shangri-La bar in Austin, TX (and a sister restaurant to Golden Tiger, another of Martin’s foodservice customers). Stop on by to try popular favorites like their hot dogs, Castle Sliders, and Hot Chicken Sliders, or sample limited-time options like Char Siu Pulled Pork Sliders.

29.    Big Ugly’s Burgers – Austin, TX

To try the “Big Ugly” burger, a double smashburger with American cheese, Big Ugly sauce, pickles, and a Martin’s Potato Roll, head to Austin, TX and look for the pop-up restaurant by the same name, usually situated at various restaurants and breweries in the local area. (Check website for schedule.)

30.    E.L.E. Burger Popup – San Diego, CA

E.L.E Burgers (which stands for “Everybody Love Everybody”) is a pop-up stationed in San Diego, CA. They are known for their Oklahoma-style fried onion burgers (à la George Motz). Their classic “E.L.E. Burger” includes 2 smash burger patties, American cheese, thin-sliced grilled onions, iceberg lettuce, pickles, and Love Spread, served on a Martin’s Potato Roll.

31.    Pleasant Burgers Popup – Santa Paula, CA

Over in Santa Paula, CA there is another smash burger pop-up called Pleasant Burgers that is serving up stellar burgers on Martin’s Potato Rolls (as they, themselves, say are “nothing but the best”). Check out the Instagram page to see their upcoming pop-up events.
