French Toast:
5 Martin’s Hoagie Rolls
1 Cup Vanilla Ice Cream, melted
3 Large Eggs
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/2 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
Strawberry Filling:
8 Ounces Whipped Cream Cheese
2 Tablespoons Honey
3/4 Cup Strawberries, diced
Optional Toppings:
Syrup
Powdered Sugar
Vanilla Ice Cream
Mint Leaves
Chocolate Syrup
Serves: 10
Directions
Step 1
“Hasselback” the Hoagie Rolls by slicing a quarter of the way through the roll to create 1-inch sections, taking care not to slice down through the hinge. Set aside to dry out for one hour before proceeding.
Step 2
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a 11×8 inch baking pan, including the sides.
Step 3
In a medium bowl, combine the whipped cream cheese with the honey and strawberries. Insert the strawberry filling between each section of the Hoagie Rolls. Place filled Hoagie Rolls into the greased pan.
Step 4
In a medium bowl, combine the melted ice cream, eggs, vanilla, and cinnamon. Whisk until blended. Pour mixture over stuffed Hoagie Rolls in pan. Let soak for 15 minutes prior to baking.
Step 5
Cover with foil and bake in the oven for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes, or until set.
Step 6
Allow to cool for a few minutes, then add any additional toppings.
