Thanksgiving is next week! Have you finalized your dinner menu and purchased all of the necessary ingredients? Or planned what dish you will take to your family gathering? Well, if you are like the many who are still preparing for the holidays, you likely still have a few things left to take care of on your list.

Whatever your plans, make sure you don’t leave out one of the best parts of Thanksgiving—the stuffing! Stuffing is a classic part of the holiday season and fairly easy to prepare; plus, there are so many ways to customize it by switching up a few of the ingredients.

Here are some ideas for making your perfect stuffing:

Start with the basics:

Choose your herbs & spices:

  • Thyme
  • Rosemary
  • Parsley
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic

Choose your veggies:

  • Onions
  • Celery
  • Leeks
  • Mushrooms

Add some liquid:

  • Chicken or vegetable stock
  • Eggs
  • White Wine
  • Citrus Juice

Add some meat:

  • Sausage

  • Turkey

Choose extra add-ins:

  • Roasted nuts: e.g., chestnuts, hazelnuts, walnuts, or pecans
