Thanksgiving is next week! Have you finalized your dinner menu and purchased all of the necessary ingredients? Or planned what dish you will take to your family gathering? Well, if you are like the many who are still preparing for the holidays, you likely still have a few things left to take care of on your list.

Whatever your plans, make sure you don’t leave out one of the best parts of Thanksgiving—the stuffing! Stuffing is a classic part of the holiday season and fairly easy to prepare; plus, there are so many ways to customize it by switching up a few of the ingredients.

Here are some ideas for making your perfect stuffing:

Start with the basics:

Butter

Choose your herbs & spices:
Sage
Thyme
Rosemary
Parsley
Salt
Pepper
Garlic

Choose your veggies:
Onions
Celery
Leeks
Mushrooms

Add some liquid:
Chicken or vegetable stock
Eggs
White Wine
Citrus Juice

Add some meat:
Sausage
Chorizo
Turkey

Choose extra add-ins:
Roasted nuts like chestnuts, hazelnuts, walnuts, or pecans
Fresh or dried fruit like apples, cranberries, or apricots
Cheese like parmesan, cheddar, or gruyere

Pick a style:
Regular baked stuffing
Cooked inside a turkey
Stuffing muffins
Stuffing balls

Get cooking!
