Consumer Spotlight: What Our Fans Are Saying

At Martin’s, we’ve always believed that the best recipes start with the best ingredients—and that includes our beloved Potato Rolls. But don’t just take our word for it! We recently asked you, our loyal fans, to share your thoughts on everything from your go-to recipes to how Martin’s has become a part of your family traditions. Today, we’re excited to dive into your responses and reveal the fun, creative, and heartfelt ways you use our products.

Whether you’re here for some recipe inspo or just love a good story, we think you’ll enjoy this peek behind the curtain into our Martin’s community. Let’s jump in!

 

Question 1: How often do you purchase Martin’s products?

We know some of you can’t resist stocking up on our rolls every time you hit the grocery store—and we totally get it! Here’s what our research tells us: the majority of our fans say they purchase Martin’s products at least twice a month. In fact, nearly half of our customers admit to purchasing Martin’s products at least once per week, with many stocking up for special occasions or weekly dinners.

No matter how often you buy, we’re just glad you choose to share your meals with us. Keep reading for more fan-favorite recipes and ways to level up your cooking game with Martin’s!

 

Question 2: How many times a week do you enjoy our products?

As a follow-up to question 1, we polled our social media audience to see how often fans enjoy our products at home for those who buy our products regularly.

Question 3: Which Martin’s product(s) do you buy most frequently?

While we certainly have die-hard fans for each of our products, there are a few standouts that top the list of most frequently purchased products by our customers. The majority of our fans frequently purchase Martin’s Sandwich Potato Rolls followed by Martin’s Potato Bread and Martin’s Long Potato Rolls. Which of these products have you tried?

Question 4: Which is your favorite Martin’s product?

While this question could yield similar results to the one above, we wanted to explore which of our products was the ultimate fan-favorite regardless of purchase frequency. Through a fun social media post themed around a global sporting event, we discovered that your top picks are Sandwich Potato Rolls, Long Potato Rolls, Sweet Dinner Potato Rolls, and Big Marty’s Rolls.

Some fans got really into the voting concept, while others took the opportunity to commend our entire product line for being top-notch:

“All of your products deserve a gold medal! If I was stranded on a deserted island, and could only have one thing to eat, it would be your potato bread rolls. I’ve got a serious addiction to your products.”

In a different social post, we took it a step further and asked fans the question: “If you could only have two Martin’s products for the rest of your life, which products would you pick?” Many fans were torn at having to pick favorites and each product made at least several appearances in the comments. However, the most popular answers were Sandwich Rolls, Long Rolls, Potato Bread, Slider Rolls, and Big Marty’s Rolls (which weren’t even given as an option).

 

Question 5: What do you like most about Martin’s products?

When we asked you what keeps you coming back for more Martin’s products, your answers warmed our hearts! From the signature softness to the delicious flavor, it’s clear that you all have your favorite things about our products.

Here’s a look at some of your responses:

Martin’s potato products always feel as if they just came out of the oven. They are all really soft and fresh which makes them taste so much better than other brands.

They have the best texture compared to all other brands. They are soft, fresh and of course have a unique taste that’s delicious. Even better than more expensive brands.

Love, love, love the freshness of the rolls. I can always count on them hanging in there for the full burger meal while others crumble or fall apart. Really don’t know how we missed using Martin’s for so long. We will never go back to regular bread or rolls for our sandwiches.

Question 6: What’s your favorite way to use Martin’s Potato Rolls?

Burgers. There is no reason on earth for a burger to be served on anything other than a Martin’s Potato Roll.

Question 7: What’s your go-to recipe for the best burger?

Since we know how enthusiastic our fans can get about burgers on our buns, we wanted to hear all your favorite tips and tricks about what makes a great burger. To do this, we posted a series of questions to social media asking about different elements of burger making.

“Butter burgers. I take a fairly thick burger patty, season with seasoned salt and black pepper. I melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a frying pan, add in a bit of Worcestershire, cook burger until done, spooning butter over top. I melt a little cheese, serve on a bun buttered on both sides.”

Question 8: What’s the best way to prepare a hot dog?

Since we know how passionate our fans are about crafting the perfect hot dog on Martin’s Long Potato Rolls, we wanted to gather all your favorite tips and tricks for hot dog preparation. To do this, we asked a series of questions on social media about everything from cooking methods to topping combinations—and you delivered with some amazing ideas!

You all had a lot of things to say about ways to cook a hot dog! Many people voted for boiled or grilled; however, others preferred pan-fried, open flame, air fryer, and also deep-fried or steamed (which weren’t even listed as options). Scan the comment section below!

The general consensus among fans was that somewhere between “slightly charred” and “full on char,” referencing the post infographic, makes the ideal hot dog. What do you think? Comment on the post below!

“I’m in Pennsylvania. My favorite toppings are ketchup, mustard, onions, relish, sauerkraut and chili, all together, or some in combination. I always have Martin’s Potato Rolls.”

The most reoccurring answers were mustard (spicy brown or yellow), diced onions, and chili, but fans also love to top their hot dogs with coleslaw, sauerkraut, ketchup, cheese, relish, mayo, tomatoes, and jalapeños.

 

Question 9: What’s your signature sandwich recipe on Martin’s Famous Potato Rolls or Bread?

Wow—there’s a lot of possible combinations for preparing a simple PB&J, especially if you consider the different flavors of jelly, styles of peanut butter, and different bread and roll products! It seems that the majority of people prefer creamy peanut butter over crunchy, and the jelly was a toss-up between two classics: grape and strawberry. However, we loved seeing everyone’s go-to combos and can’t wait to try them all out!

Poll #3: What is the BEST way to prepare a grilled cheese? (Instagram)

In our post infographic, we showed you 7 methods of preparing a grilled cheese sandwich, from stovetop and oven baked to even microwaved and air fried! By a vast majority, the preferred method was pan-frying using either a regular skillet or a cast iron pan. How many methods have you tried?

 

Question 10: Share a memorable experience you’ve had with Martin’s products.

Nothing warms our hearts more than hearing how Martin’s has played a role in your special moments. Whether it’s a summer cookout, a first date, or a holiday dinner, your stories make all the hard work worth it. We’ve gathered some of the best stories that celebrate how our rolls have made their way into your memorable experiences.

Football season is always a memorable time. Multiple family & friends in the house, many rooting for opposite teams. The one time everyone gets along (kidding, we all get along fine during the game too) is when the sliders come out, all made with Martin’s Sweet Potato Rolls.

This is the reaction I get when I bring the Martin’s rolls and cut them up for the little toddlers and pre-school children that I babysit for.
