6 Martin’s Hoagie Rolls
6 Tablespoons Butter
2 Cloves Garlic, minced
1 24-oz. Jar Marinara Sauce
1/2 Pound Deli-Style Pepperoni, thinly sliced
8 Ounces Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
1/4 Cup Shredded Asiago or Parmesan Cheese
1 Tablespoon Dried Oregano
1/4 Cup Fresh Basil, roughly chopped
Optional Pizza Toppings (e.g., bell pepper, onions, mushrooms, black olives, cooked crumbled sausage, etc.)
Serves: 6
Directions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2
Open the hoagie rolls to lay flat; spreads inside with butter and minced garlic. (Alternately, you can sprinkle with garlic powder.) Arrange onto on a foil-lined baking sheet and bake until lightly golden in color.
Step 3
Remove baking sheet from oven and spread pizza sauce onto the bottom half of each bun
Step 4
Layer on desired pizza toppings—sliced pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, asiago or parmesan cheese, oregano, and any other optional toppings.
Step 5
Return baking sheet back to oven (with subs open-faced) and bake or broil until cheese is melted.
Step 6
Remove from oven and top subs with fresh basil. Serve with extra pizza sauce on the side.
