Serves: 6
Directions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Step 2
Split the Hoagie Rolls in half and lay them, cut side up, on a large baking sheet.
Step 3
Brush each roll half with about 1 teaspoon olive oil and a pinch of minced garlic.
Step 4
Top each roll with a few spoonfuls of marinara sauce, or leave plain if making white pizza.
Step 5
Cover each roll with either shredded or sliced fresh mozzarella. Top with shredded or grated parmesan, if desired.
Step 6
Add your choice of desired toppings.
Our variations include:
— Shredded mozzarella and pepperoni
— Fresh mozzarella, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, black olives
— White pizza; fresh mozzarella, shredded parmesan, grated parmesan, (could also top with a few dollops of ricotta cheese, and various seasonings)
— Shredded mozzarella and ham, (feel free to add pineapple as well)
— Fresh mozzarella and basil
— Fresh mozzarella and tomato (this would also be good using pesto sauce instead of marinara)
Step 7
Once assembled, place in the oven on the lowest rack for 8 to 10 minutes. Then, turn the heat to 425 (or set to broil) and put it on the highest rack until the cheese starts to bubble a bit and turn golden.
Step 8
Remove from oven and serve. You can either let each person choose his/her favorite pizza, or you can cut the pizzas horizontally and choose from a variety of flavors.
