Throwback Thursday – Valdosta, GA; 2007

Atlanta, Georgia, was the destination this week for Martin’s All-American Road Trip (Monday’s blog post), but we also mentioned another city in Georgia. For today’s Throwback Thursday post, we’re going to focus on that city: Valdosta, Georgia. Just a few hours south of Atlanta, Valdosta is the home of our second bakery! Built in 2007, the Valdosta bakery allowed us to expand our production as well as our service and distribution area.

The pictures above were taken at the ground-breaking ceremony in 2007.

One of the reasons we chose the Valdosta location was due to the close proximity of the Valdosta airport. [Fun fact… Most of the Martin’s family/executives are pilots!]

Pictured in the slider above is Jim Martin, in October 2007, at the Moody Airshow, which takes place at the Moody Air Force Base.

We continue operations at the 220,000-square-foot plant.  The bread and rolls produced at this location are then sent to our Southern Territories such as Florida and Georgia, as well as abroad to our international restaurant customers!
