Convoy of Hope – Chambersburg
On Saturday, September 27th 2014, a team of 11 Martin’s volunteers headed to Mike Waters Memorial Park for the Convoy of Hope Chambersburg event. The event reached out to 1,371 guests; local residents living around or below the poverty line. Over the course of the day, 400 volunteers provided 82 haircuts, 106 health screenings, 160 family portraits, and 950 grocery coupons. Over 1,000 guests were prayed with, too. Our Martin’s team (made up of 6 employees and 5 family members) helped by packing grocery bags that were given to guests on their way out of the event. Martin’s also donated rolls for hot meals served at the event. Our volunteers appreciated an opportunity to see and connect with those in need who live in the local community, and be a part of one of Martin’s goals of being a God-honoring company.
